To quote her:
“I believe that the key to unlocking effective leadership starts with a heightened level of self-awareness that can be achieved through simple practices of reflection and conversations with others. Leadership is relational and the leadership vine can only flourish into fruition through connected relationships”, so developing strong relational skills is a strong focus of our leadership development”.

Wendy is married and has two young girls. To quote her...

“My greatest leadership lessons are learned at home!”

Key Associate: Helene Du Toit – Lourens

After she completed her M.A in Industrial Psychology at the University of Stellenbosch, she started the first phase in her career. During the first ten years of her career at Koeberg Nuclear Power, Eskom, she held several leadership positions ranging from supervisory to senior management level in the field of Human Resources Management.

To quote her...
“My early career years gave me priceless growth. It also made me realise that leadership is an art and has no recipe or “one size fits all”. My purpose started to crystallise into my favourite definition of leadership, which is to “continuously increase my own and other people’s positive contribution to the business, family or community” and to live our authentic purpose.”

Twelve years ago Helene ventured into the second phase of her career, namely her own consulting business. She specializes in leadership development, effective interaction and team effectiveness. She mainly consults in South Africa but her international experience includes involvement in the training and facilitation of the management teams in China and planning and implementation of business strategy in SHH architecture in Kuwait. She loves mentoring and coaching female employees and it has become her mission to champion other women.

She is often a keynote speaker at conferences and special events, providing an entertaining perspective on relationship dynamics and “female think” related topics. Her latest topic being on the trials and blessings of a “blended family”.

She lives on a farm on the outskirts of Cape Town, with her husband Leon and five children, four dogs and a cat.

“I love the variety and challenges that my life brings – it’s not always easy, but it’s worth it.”
